With Strange Times #3 and Hologram: Counting the Days Book One out the door, I finally have time to attack a few items that have been on my small press to-do list. One of those was to get involved in Danny Ferbert‘s Mini Comix Co-Op!
The premise is simple (all laid out on his website): You package up 5-10 copies of your minicomic and mail it to Danny. Danny pulls an equal number of other contributed minicomics and sends them back to you. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
So I packed up bags of Hologram #1, Small Press Interview, an invite to participate in Small Press Interview and a Phoenix Productions sticker…and sent them on their merry way to Danny. A couple of weeks later, I got an envelope full of these publications:

What a fun treat! The content was all over the map, making each zine a surprise in and of itself. I miss seeing the variety of small press works that I saw when I was publishing Fandom. Being a member of the United Fanzine Organization helps scratch that itch, but the material coming from those guys is more finely polished in general. These minis are gems of individual creativity.
Kudos to Danny for offering this service. Honestly, the small press world needs more such outlets to share our creative works and build community. (He has a Facebook group for the Co-Op, sign up today!)
You probably haven’t participated in this co-op yet. What’s keeping you? Go check out Danny’s website today!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll check it out!
