JUST ARRIVED: Strange Times 3 & Hologram Book One!

Big day at Phoenix Productions HQ: The printed copies of Strange Times #3 and Hologram: Counting the Days Book One arrived this morning!

Strange Times #3 fulfills a dream of mine with this title, that being to take a deep dive into the works of some of small press comics’ most creative minds. For my money, nobody is as out-of-the-box creative as Matt Levin of Walking Man Comics. For over 40 years, Matt has been using rubber stamps to transport readers to a world unlike anything they have seen. 60 pages of full-size, full color magazine goodness has been brewing for around six months, and it’s finally here.

Seriously, this zine makes me so happy. I can’t wait to share it with the world. And it’s already grabbing attention from some impressive places…

Yes, the legendary artist on Swamp Thing, Taboo and other fantastic works. The man has great taste, what can I say?

Hologram: Counting the Days Book One also is a bit of wish fulfillment; I’ve written a 12-issue story arc that begins to tell the story of what happened to Joe Peters over thirty-plus years. Those issues are generally 8-page minicomics, told one full page panel at a time. It’s a tad fractured when chopped up, but I think that it works much better as a larger bite. With my taking over the art reins as of issue seven, and with the arc at its halfway point, it makes sense to collect the first six issues that William Henry Caddell drew into a single 56-page, manga-sized (more or less 6″x9″) volume. Cover it up with a beautiful Scott McClung homage to Gil Kane’s Atom from DC Comics, and we have a collection worthy of the series.

Both books, as well as everything else in print, is available to order through the Order tab above. Digital PDF editions are available through the Phoenix Productions Gumroad store.

Thanks for sharing the excitement! I hope you enjoy the books.
