This is not a drill. I actually have digital proofs of Heroic: Heroes now. Only one minor tweak as best I can see, but I’m giving Matt Kanaracus a chance to look it over before green-lighting the presses. It’s only fair, seeing as a healthy portion of the book was drawn by his pen…over 30Continue reading “Heroic: Heroes Past proofs are in hand”

Gremlins!
William Henry Caddell tells me that he has had the dreaded technology issues with his personal computer, and that’s set him back a week or so on Hologram #2. He’s pushing fast to be done close to the first of the month, but it sounds like we shouldn’t be surprised if the issue is aContinue reading “Gremlins!”
Catching up
Hey everyone – Sorry it’s been so long between updates. August has been largely about getting the kiddos ready for school, which just started today. But that’s not to say that I wasn’t busy…. William Henry Caddell and I are cruising along on Hologram #2, and I am reasonably confident that we will have itContinue reading “Catching up”
Hologram #1 is live
That’s right, Hologram #1 is live. You can read it right now at the top of the Library section of this site. Enjoy, and let William and me know what you think!
About Hologram
[Haven’t read Hologram yet? Check out the original four-page story from Tim Corrigan’s Ka-Blam! #1, with pencils by Scott McClung and inks/letters by Tim himself. It’s only an origin story, but the new work builds on it.] The storytelling challenge Hologram actually was the second character I picked back up in returning to small pressContinue reading “About Hologram”
Hologram #1 is complete
Great news! Hologram #1 – the first chapter of “Counting the Days” – is complete. I’ve done the digital wrangling to make it PDF-friendly and am awaiting final OK from artist William Henry Caddell. Expect it on August 1!
Hologram 1 is almost complete
I’m wrapping up the Heroic: Heroes Past collection (word is the cover is almost complete) and simultaneously working on new material. Specifically, a 12-issue arc of 8-page Hologram minicomics is almost ready to kick off! With a very reasonable goal of one issue per month for a year – followed by a print collected editionContinue reading “Hologram 1 is almost complete”
Been a little while…
Quick update on the state o’ things: I am working on Heroes Past, a book reprinting my five heroes’ stories…a short “omnibus”, if you will. Most all work on it is done, but I need to nail down the page count and get the special front cover finalized. To the best of my knowledge, I’veContinue reading “Been a little while…”
New Phoenix Productions logo
While putting books together, I’m afforded with time to do little things like rework a thirty-year-old logo. Here’s what we have for Phoenix Productions, Mark II: I have a couple other variations, but this is the basic form. Hope you like it!
Not gonna jinx anything!
It’s been a little while since I wrote with an update on the status of new projects. (The old collection has been entirely bagged and packaged into manageable boxes…that took a week-plus.) And while I don’t want to screw up the system, here are some intentionally vague tidbits: Collected edition of older books – AContinue reading “Not gonna jinx anything!”
