Quick update on the state o’ things:
- I am working on Heroes Past, a book reprinting my five heroes’ stories…a short “omnibus”, if you will. Most all work on it is done, but I need to nail down the page count and get the special front cover finalized. To the best of my knowledge, I’ve seen at least prelims of every piece of artwork that’s going into the book.
- Patriot is almost ready to get laid out per artist Tony Lorenz. Over 30 pages of story and art!
- Hologram: Counting the Days minicomic issue 1 (of 12 8-page books) is almost finished per artist William Caddell. (But I won’t release it until the “omni” is released…so I might have a couple issues in the hopper, which will be nice to have a consistent release schedule.) Again, I’ve seen at least prelims of every page.
- Laser-Disc issue 1 (of a 4-issue miniseries…not sure we’ve decided on format yet) is scripted and off to original artist David Tryzenski (!!!). David has been sharing character sketches as we have to build out the LD-verse a little in this series.
- I’ll be on vacation from June 30-July 19, so summer will be a bit of a dead period for me.
I’m rapidly learning that working with grown adults means that you have to have longer lead times than when dealing with no-job, no-kid high schoolers. It’s all good; the books are in competent hands, and I love what I’m seeing so far. Each title takes a decidedly different approach in both format and storytelling, and it’s fun to experiment and build out these heroes’ backstories while simultaneously looking forward to an exciting future!
