Some minor housekeeping: Covers for our 2022 United Fanzine Organization titles have been updated to reflect the recently-announced 2023 UFO Awards. Check out the fancy ribbon graphics!
Digital files in the Gumroad store have been updated as well.
Should I reprint these titles, they will get the new covers. Current printings get a slightly less elegant set of stickers:
Only 2022 UFO titles received this treatment. That means nothing on our 2021 publication (Heroic: Heroes Past) and nothing on non-UFO titles like Hologram or the Accelerator: Artist Edition. I’m pleased as can be about the awards but also want to keep the celebration germane to the books that earned them.
Digital or print, every one of those six 2022 UFO titles received the Best Publisher notation. I added the Best Comic Writer when I had a writing credit – and noted Tony Lorenz wherever his Best Sequential/Story Artist award applied. The Best Cover was noted on Strange Times #2, and Best Single Zine or Comic Book notation went on Heroes Now: Patriot.
It doesn’t impact the interior contents of the book whatsoever (and I especially tried to be delicate with placement on Larned Justin’s Best Cover), but hopefully the award mentions help pique reader interest that much more — especially should I get to do some zine festival tabling.
