Strange Times #2 reviews!

As mentioned in the post with Heroes Now #2 and 3 reviews, the United Fanzine Organization (Website, Facebook group) members review the latest UFO-branded publications from their fellow members in the Tetragrammaton Fragments newsletter. Issue #269 had reviews of the two Heroes Now books as well as Strange Times #2.

Strange Times #2 was a creative stretch for me. I generally play in the hero sandbox, never having published anything in other creative genres (outside of the Alan Groening spotlight/collaboration that is Strange Times #1). Some of the material was a little edgy for me, and some was extremely personal for a couple contributors as well as yours truly.

Strange Times #2 is on sale! Info in the Order tab at the top of every page.

Point being, I was rather nervous at the feedback that was to come. Now that the reviews are in, I’m not sure I should have been so stressed. Let’s see what the members had to say!

Tim Kelly’s review:

Strange Times #2 contributor Verl Holt Bond’s thoughts:

John Muller’s impressions:

Larry Johnson’s extensive thoughts and reflections blew me away:

Strange Times #2 contributor Joseph Morris added his two cents:

And again, let’s wrap up this set of reviews with El Jefe, UFO Chairman Steve Keeter:

I’ve noticed that small press publishers often ask “Why am I doing this?” Lots of work, small print runs, much more money flowing out than in…there are a lot of challenges in this hobby of ours. But I have to tell you, I do it to make the best publications that I can…and reviews like these are SO gratifying! Thanks to everyone who offered such kind words.

Again, the United Fanzine Organization is a great co-op. If you spend your time making and publishing small press comics, (fan)zines, books or whatever, you probably would benefit from being a part of this community of interest. Let me know if you’d be interested in learning more about becoming a member!

Strange Times #2 is available in paper form through the Order link, and digitally from the Phoenix Productions Gumroad store.
