#HumpdayHutchinsons – Artist Editions??

On this pre-Zinecinnati Wednesday, I am swamped crushing out the Phoenix Masters minicomics line…which will see its debut on Saturday at the zine fest.

I honestly didn’t think that a #HumpdayHutchinsons entry was going to happen today, but then I got an email from Joe Hutchinson with a fascinating package of goodies: Photos of the original masters for My Fish Told Me of The Craving!

Here’s the cover to give you an idea of what I’m looking at…we’ll discuss further after you check it out:

Joe’s art… yellowing on the tape, slight bleedthrough on the images, rough edges on the paper. 40 year old masters!

And it hit me: This looks like the artist editions that companies like Marvel, DC, IDW and Act IV publish…where you get to see what those masters look like before they’re digitally cleaned up.

Would you folks want to see an Artist’s Edition of this minicomic? I have a clean version of the minicomic, expertly remastered by brother Daryl and part of Joe’s Comix: WILD KINGDOM. And now I have this.

Could be interesting. Whaddya think, peeps?

Don’t forget that you can grab some epic Hutchinson greatness in Meet the Hutchinsons, a digest-sized sampler with an extended reprint of their glorious Slam Bang #5 takeover, pieces of Daryl’s collaboration with Michael Roden, a preview of new Joe work and more! Get it at the Phoenix Ko-Fi store right now!
