On this #HumpdayHutchinsons entry, I think it’s wisest to skip the typing and go straight to the video:
As you can see, we’re going much further than the Hutchinsons, but I’m so thrilled to start with Daryl. His work has been integral to the Joe’s Comix projects, but he’s been so darned selfless about it! He did the remastering. He did the coloring. All to let Joe’s work shine that much brighter. What a great brother.
But as we have seen in his older work (perhaps through Meet the Hutchinsons?), there was a reason why he won the 1986 Collier Small Press Award for Favorite Illustrator. He’s talented! What I would give to have a drop of the talent that he exudes on every page.
So yeah, there will be plenty of Phoenix Masters minicomics to come…from Joe Hutchinson, from Steve Willis, perhaps more…but Daryl once again was the guy behind the scenes to get this project off the ground. It’s only fitting that his minicomics take center stage as we get this moving. And hot rods and Lovecraft…nothing could be more “Daryl”!
