This Collected Cranium Frenzy by Steve Willis project has been a long road, and I’m so excited to have it out on the street and available for readers to enjoy. Steve is a creative genius – a “Phoenix Master” if you will – and deserves recognition for his talents.
So when praise like this comes from people like this…wow.
Steve Bissette, for the unknowing, is the pencil artist on the legendary 1980s run of Swamp Thing with writer Alan Moore and inker John Totleben. Together, the three of them crafted stories that totally upended what American comics were…and could be.
Bissette went on to do other projects, notably Taboo and Tyrant, and was on the faculty at the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont. His impact on our industry/hobby is enormous.
Both Steve (Willis) and I are so glad that he has enjoyed our efforts. This isn’t the first time that he’s been kind enough to offer a good word for Phoenix Productions (he really liked Matt Levin’s Strange Times #3…check it out!), but affirmation like this always means that little bit extra.
Want to see what Steve Bissette is gushing about? Go to craniumfrenzy.com and grab a book or two!
