Taking a look at the FANzine Live archives for the Week of June 22-28…
Our Phoenix Spotlight looked at on Hologram #6:
The last issue with William Caddell, and the break-point where I collected the first six issues and released Hologram: Counting the Days Book One (Physical) (Digital).
The New Releases video was a cool one, looking at Marc Sobel’s Recurring Nightmares – a look back at Los Bros Hernandez’s involvement with Vortex Comics’ Mister X. What a sharp zine, and a perfect complement to Sobel’s Reading Love and Rockets.
Videos like that really let me spread my FANzine wings. Not only will the channel cover the great cartoonists and publishers, but it will also look at all sorts of zines – even a long-form article with an academic tone! The possibilities are endless.
Finally, the Classic Zines video checked out Future Fanzine #1. Good golly, what a combination of contributors!
