Chapter 8 of Hologram is complete, and this installment sees Joe literally going where no man has gone before! (And don’t forget to catch up on back issues in the Library tab at the top of the page.)
I’ve been saying for a while to hang in there as we establish the story in the first half of this arc. We’re at the two-thirds marker, and things are really starting to cook. Can’t wait to show you the final four chapters!
I found that the use of Midjourney AI for backgrounds actually works really well. It lets me focus on trying to improve my figure work (Really, I’m trying to improve…even if it doesn’t look like it!!) while providing the right scenery in a photorealistic style.
[Side note: Steve Keeter and Larned Justin interviewed me regarding AI in comics and comic art for their Talking Small Press YouTube show. Not sure when that’s getting released, but I have a little more to say about the topic there.]
And yes, my art isn’t great. Readers get a one-page reprieve as we go all the way back to Chapter One (“Overture”) for our closing cliffhanger page drawn by William Henry Caddell.
