False alarm (I hope!)

So Matt and I spent a good portion of the day (Sorry, Matt!) tryin to figure out why some pages in the proof were so pixelated. Finally – being the graphic design guru that he is – Matt said that the only way to know that the printer has a good copy is to print the material that I sent them. So I ran a copy at the local UPS Store on their nice photocopier, looked at the pages…and they were great. No pixelation whatsoever. We chalked it up to the low-res nature of the proof…and, to be fair, they told me it was a low-resolution proof. I just didn’t realize it was going to be THAT low.

I think we’re full speed ahead. I caught only one typo, and that was an incorrect page numbering in the table of contents. Easy fix.

The printer has the green light to go to press (with a nice long caveat that I gave them a good looking book, and hopefully they don’t screw it up). The book should be here within a couple of weeks!
